Maximum speed edit
Moped-class scooters are often speed-limited in the U.S. and probably elsewhere, usually to 28 mph, regardless of whether they're electric or gasoline-powered. This includes the eMax and eMax Sport, the Lepton Oxygen, etc. There are some full-sized electric scooters, which are classified as motorcycles for insurance/registration purposes, that aren't speed-limited, and these include the Vectrix.
