different demands edit

What is the difference between Agreagate demand, Effective Demand,Market Demand and simply the Demand?

Effective demand is a term that comes up in older texts and its meaning is subtle and not exactly equal to modern aggregate demand... The articles should stay separate with interlinks between.--Oracleofottawa (talk) 04:57, 9 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Spillover edit

I believe that the intended word at the end of this section was supposed to be "notional", not "national". In the sentences before, the author discusses "effective demand" and "notional demand", concluding at the end that "effective demand will be less than 'national' demand". I am not an economic expert but unless the author was introducing a new term by using "national demand", I assume it he intended it to be "notional", corresponding to earlier sentences. I was going to mark this as a 'minor edit', but was unsure if the author intended on introducing the new term "national demand" that is the reason for the discussion.--Adrianw61 (talk) 01:49, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

What General Glut controversy??? edit

http://images.alternet.org/images/managed/storyimages_1319223516_screenshot20111020at11.27.19am.png As you can see from a graph of productivity vs wages, the two decoupled in 1970 and productivity increases since then have had zero impact on wages. No Say's law, no controversy.70.113.72.73 (talk) 04:27, 30 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Increase in production without increase in aggregate purchasing power (i.e., effective demand) deepens the recession phase of business cycles. "No Say's Law" and gluts are endemic. Janosabel (talk) 17:53, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Introduction is jargon based edit

"...when purchasers are constrained in a different market." Wat does this mean in layman terms?

Methinks it is when customers want a product but have no money to pay for it. Am I in error here? -- Janosabel (talk) 18:14, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
