Notability and expansion by Guinness323 edit

After I raised concerns about WP:GNG, User:Guinness323 expanded it with three sources. I am concerned, however, whether they are reliable.

1) [1] An anonymous review posted on a French website Guide du Rôliste Galactique. I am having trouble figuring out if it is reliable (it seems like a multi-person project, but I couldn't see any information on peer review/fact-checking/error correction for their posts 2) [2] Non-anonymous review from rpg.net. But if I am not mistaken, it's an equivalent of a forum review, and rpg.net reviews are not considered reliable? 3) [3] Non-anonymous review from Flames Rising. FR seems like a large blog/fanzine with multiple contributors, but just like 1) I can't locate evidence of quality control although their submission page at [4] does imply, if not clearly, that there is some review process involved.

As such, although 3) may be reliable, I remain concerns that 1) and 2) are more of a SPS (blog equivalents) and as such, we don't have multiple, reliable sources to show notability. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:55, 28 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Piotrus: GROG is an RS - its contributors include staff from major French RPG publications like Casus Belli, and is frequently cited by CB, Backstab, SciFi Universe, etc. The reviews listed on the pages are user-generated, however, unless they are specifically one of the ones licensed and taken from out-of-print magazines (in which case they have the magazine's logo next to them). RPG.net is user-generated, so not usable. Flames Rising is headed by RPG veterans Matt McElroy (editor-in-chief) and Monica Valentinelli (reviews manager), and as such I consider it at least a "self-published expert source" for RPG-related content (with the caveat that it is unusable for coverage of Onyx Path Publishing content published in 2016 and later, since McElroy became OPP's director of operations at that point). So... that leaves us with two usable sources. I will take a look at my library of RPG magazines this weekend and see if there is any further coverage of this.--AlexandraIDV 10:23, 29 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Alexandra IDV Thank you, but isn't it one usable source? FR, since the other two are user generated reviews? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:29, 29 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Piotrus: There are no user reviews on that particular GROG page - GROG is primarily an RPG encyclopedia, and I was referring to the encyclopedia page that's linked to.--AlexandraIDV 13:14, 29 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Alexandra IDV Ah. So in your opinion, is this a reliable article or not? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 13:32, 29 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, as an entry in the GROG encyclopedia. I have not yet looked at my magazines, btw - I'll be back.--AlexandraIDV 08:35, 31 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
What I have to report: I do not have any Casus Belli issues from 2002, but Backstab, Dosdediez, Gwiezdny Pirat, Lider and Designers & Dragons did not cover this game. This might not be able to meet GNG.--AlexandraIDV 18:50, 12 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
