I am writing in regards to the accusation that I have infringed copyright on the Wikipedia page for Dengeki Daisy, I would also apologise beforehand if the template for a "Talk Page" is wrong as I had trouble investigating how one would properly write one. I feel that I have not infringed on any website; this goes doubly so for the website I have been accused of (http://manga.animea.net/dengeki-daisy.html) as I have never visited this website once. All the information regarding the story and the characters were derived from my own personal knowledge of the manga which I had previously finished reading earlier in the morning of the 08/01/2010. The manga was viewed on Manga Fox (http://www.mangafox.com/manga/dengeki_daisy/) and was not related to the “offended” website in any circumstance. All sites that I referred to as to get a clearer understanding of the manga and its specific information (serialised magazine, Mangaka, serialisation dates, etc.) came from the sites I have listed. You have been unclear in specifying the particular offending text or image and since that I am unable to completely prove my innocence (however adamant I am that I HAVE NOT stolen anything from this website) I would be glad to edit the information that you feel has breached copyright if you would pinpoint just what needs changing. I spent many hours trying to write out information in the best way possible and would feel insulted should the Wikipedia page be taken down due to a false accusation. - There are direct quotes/paraphrases lifted from the other site. Quote from the animea.net site: "Teru, a poor and kind girl, recently lost her older brother, her only remaining relative. Before he died he gave her a cell phone connecting her to a person he said would support her if ever he were unable to. As time passes she is cheered on by text messages sent from this enigmatic person, known only as DAISY." Text in the current Wikipedia article: "Teru, a poor and kind girl, recently lost her older brother and her only remaining relative. Before his death he gave her a cell phone connecting her to a person he promised would support her when he was no longer able to. As time passed she was cheered on by phone mail sent from this enigmatic character that she only knew as "DAISY"." That is a little too close for comfort for me. - It appears there are further copyright issues as well with other sites such as http://myanimelist.net/character/15837/Teru_Kurebayashi which has this text, "Teru is a "poor girl", her brother died when she was younger and left her with a phone. She keeps in contact with a mystery person named "Daisy" who she comes to respect and admire...she has never met him face to face though. At the start of the manga she gets picked on by the student council...meeting with the school Janitor" while the current Wikipedia article reads too closely paraphrased as, "Teru is described as a "poor girl" by her peers; her brother died when she was younger and left her with little money and a phone...She keeps in contact with the mystery person named "DAISY" who she has come to respect and admire...she has never met him face to face. At the beginning of the manga she is being bullied by by the student council...meeting with the school Janitor" Again, way too close to existing copyrighted material on other sites. - In response to your first comment I will provide the original image that inspired the synopsis (http://img21.tx.us.mangafox.com/store/manga/1385/01-001.0/compressed/ochibichan_scan_dengeki_daisy_vol1_ch01_000a.jpg), i merely expanded on the synopsis from the original 1st Volume. However I will look at animea's synopsis and change anything that seems too similar to satisfy you. However you are correct in saying that I took the opening line from your second observation and will recitfy this immediately, I don't think I did it purposely, though understand that I must have done so as the similarities are obvious. - The issue is that I suspect these 2 are not the only issues. They are just examples. It sounds from your latest response that you have clearly been going around and "borrowing" content. I'd suggest removing any content that has any chance of having been "borrowed" or "taken" or "expanded upon" as those are violations of the wikipedia policies on using copyrighted materials.ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 19:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- I have made major changes to the synopsis, characters and anything else that potentially sounds "cliched" whend decribing the topic in question. I probably won't be able repair anything you see unfit until tomorrow morning, however I am confident that nothing written could be plagiarised since everything came straight from my mouth. However I wasn't aware that taking information from the original document was wrong and apologise for this mosconception, this makes me wonder about the quotes that are in the text since I'm sure they serve the exact same purpose as taking text from the original document...however I doubt that any information could be provided otherwise.
