Merging edit

Similar to a PC? edit
I don't agree that a DTV receiver is at all similar to a desktop PC. A DTV receiver can be a USB stick, which needs a PC to fully function, or an external box, that still needs a PC, or it can be a standalone box, that has a purpose built embedded processor designed to handle tuning and a/v decoding, and that's all. In this latter form, I would be hard pressed to say it's at all the same as a PC. Furthermore, is the goal of broadcasting really to make it expensive on the headend so that we can have cheap receivers? This may be one goal but not the goal. I'd like to re-write this opening Brianonn (talk) 01:29, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
