Talk:Curl-up

Latest comment: 11 years ago by R2D2! in topic Translation

I am a graphic/video game artist who is strongly inspired and influenced by Escher's works. This is one of my personal favorites, and I've always been intrigued by what the text says even though I don't speak Dutch. Are there any Dutch-speakers who can translate Escher's text? Thank you very much, Indo Tenbuki

I doubt the translation of 'wentelteefje' to 'revolving bitch'. The real translation of a wentelteefje is french toast, but that is not what this is based on. Still I do not think the term 'revolving bitch' is correct, and think we should simply refer to it as a wentelteefje or, as the litograph is called in English, a curl-up. --Woodcutterty (talk) 17:58, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wentelteefje does mean "revolving (little) bitch". See wikt:wentelen, wikt:teef. Although I also think this is irrelevant for the curl-up. R2D2! (talk) 04:11, 6 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
