I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. Brandler and the Socialist Unity Party edit
Brandler didn't manage to return to Germany until 1949 as the Allied authorities refused him permission to enter Germany in the immediate post-war period. When he did return, he returned to West Germany, not East Germany. On his return he linked with a number of former members of the KPO to found the Gruppe Arbeiterpolitik. This can be confirmed by checking the article on Heinrich Brandler in the German Wikipedia
I think the original writer may have mixed up Brandler and Jacob Walcher, the former leader of both the KPO and the SAP, who did return to East Germany in 1946, joined the Socialist Unity Party, from which he was later expelled and then readmitted.
