Winners of 19 out of 20 edit

This article states - "The last two teams in major league history to win 19 out of 20 are the 1977 Royals, featuring Hurdle as a player, and the 2007 Colorado Rockies featuring him as manager." This is incorrect. In 2002 the Oakland A's won 20 straight games, which, naturally enough, means within that streak they won 19 out of 20 games twice (this can be viewed thus: (1) their last loss before their streak began, followed by 19 straight wins, or (2) the last 19 of their 20 straight wins, followed by the streak ending loss - both instances therefore make the A's winners of 19 out of 20 games). Therefore Hurdle is NOT involved in BOTH of the last 2 instances of teams winning 19 out of 20 games played (he's only involved in 2 of the last 4 instances). I've therefore deleted this misinformation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.79.96.4 (talk) 02:29, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Pirates-Reds edit

I think that the whole unsourced paragraph about the Pirates and Reds should be deleted. Bad blood between the team's started on August 3, 2012, when Aroldis Chapman hit Pirate star Andrew McCutchen just below the head with a 101 mph fastball. Between 2013 and 2018, Pirate pitchers hit Red batters 61 times, while Red pitchers hit Pirate batters 67 times. When the Reds pitcher ran off the mound and attacked the Pirate dugout, Red pitchers had hit Pirate batters six times on the 2019 season, while Pirate pitchers had hit Red hitters three times. Hurdle was suspended for two games after the brawl, but the Reds manager was suspended for six games. During Hurdle's full tenure as Pirate manager, the Reds have hit 87 Pirate batters, the Pirates 77 Reds batters.

Pirate pitchers did lead the league in hit batters for several years in the mid-2010s, and that could be documented in this article, but it has little to do with the Reds.Arnold Rothstein1921 (talk) 12:37, 26 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
