Father's ancestry edit

So I'm curious as to why All Hallow's Wraith reworded the section on his father to make it sound like his father's ancestry was somehow in doubt. The source cited doesn't say "whose father maybe has Cherokee ancestry" and we aren't making his father's English ancestry somehow conditional. Unless there's sources contesting his father's dual heritage, we should be treating "English" and "Cherokee" the same.: His father is of English and Cherokee descent. or something like that. Certainly if there is a source that casts his father's ancestry in doubt, we should reflect that, but without said source(s), we follow what sources we have, or else we are not NPOV.

If the source citing Cherokee heritage is questionable, we should debate that source and if it's determined not to be reliable, we should leave it and its info out altogether. —Joeyconnick (talk) 02:18, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Most sources say that Charles Melton has Cherokee descent in his heritage. But what if he also has unknown traces of Ashkenazi Jewish, Italian, and white Brazilian heritage (from his ethnicity estimate results)? Lil' Jimmy Da Crinja Ninja (talk) 02:08, 1 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

It was already revealed about a couple years ago that Charles Melton took a genetic test. Just write that his father is of English, Cherokee, remote French, Greek, Welsh, and Ashkenazi Jewish heritage, including all these following traces after English and Cherokee and simply cite it when these pieces of information are recorded.Lil' Jimmy Da Crinja Ninja (talk) 04:32, 25 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Why is this article in the "American people who self-identify as being of Native American descent" category, yet no mention whatsoever of claimed Native American ancestry is mentioned in the actual text of the current version of this article? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 03:22, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Charles Melton on his graduation of university edit

I've been wondering whether or not the Kansas State University exactly confirmed Charles Melton's graduation and the degrees he earned from that college. Numerous sources have tried to claim that he dropped out of college in order to switch to acting due to concussions[1], but was he able to join back to his college some time to give himself the opportunity to graduate before pursuing his model & acting (sometimes including comedy, but unfortunately he wasn't able to get his role for an upcoming comedy series due to schedule conflicts for auditioning in Riverdale) career? Not only am I curious, but everyone else may have also hoped that he graduated in one college? Lil' Jimmy Da Crinja Ninja (talk) 05:14, 15 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Need an image of Charles Melton edit

Hi! I would like to find a suitable image of Charles Melton for appropriate use dedicated under a specific Commons License by Wikimedia Commons. If someone can find an image of him online and ensure that the owner allows legitimate permission to use this image (or in other words, the image is relatively free that the rule complies most or all of Wikipedia's image use policies), that would be great! Although there weren't many free images of Charles Melton, there should be more! :) Thank you!Lil' Jimmy Da Crinja Ninja (talk) 20:19, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protection request edit

I am very afraid that I (and possibly the others, too) would make edits that are assuming/against good-faith. Can someone please make this protected so that approved users could edit this page? You can unprotect the page after a while when there are no problems with this page.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Lil' Jimmy Da Crinja Ninja (talkcontribs) 09:12, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Not done: requests for increases to the page protection level should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 09:17, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

– Subject appears to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for "Charles Melton". The only other similarly-titled article is of a winery in Australia named Charles Melton Wines. No other articles for a "Charles Melton". Οἶδα (talk) 06:27, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Korea edit

Removed the WikiProject; unless someone's notability is strongly tied to Korea I usually don't think it falls under the WikiProject's scope. toobigtokale (talk) 00:12, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Fat shaming comments inclusion edit

Hello everyone, User:KyleJoan just removed a sourced section, which I added, which contained coverage of a backlash which was covered widely in the media concerning tweets Melton had made which were considered fat shamming. Opening a discussion to see if anyone opposes it's inclusion. The One I Left (talk) 21:38, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Fails WP:RECENT and WP:NOTNEWS. This "controversy" began and ended within under a day. Maybe two. It certainly does not warrant its own section and especially one with this heading per WP:CRITICISM, which explains the careful and neutral way the heading must be used. This material's framing took up more than the entire "personal life" section. It's clearly undue. Which source says the "controversy" involved the general population? The source says his fans had a reaction. Justin Bieber's fans had a reaction to her marrying Hailey Bieber. The Beyhive? Swifties? We don't see any undue criticism by fans on those articles, let alone any framed as being controversial. KyleJoantalk 04:01, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think the difference between Bieber and Swift's fans is that they aren't addressed in any single way by the star whereas Melton acknowledged and apologized for the comments. The derogatory comments were directed towards the general population, specifically plus size women. This isn't rumors, gossip, hearsay, conspiracy theories from fans, these are comments he made, acknowledged and later apologized for. I agree that it doesn't need it's own section of controversy. Maybe it could be reworded and put under the Personal life section since his former girlfriend Camila Mendes said that he also apologized to her as well for those comments and she made that known to the public knowledge. The One I Left (talk) 12:38, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
