Am I missing something? The two links appear to be the same person. 115.166.50.186 (talk) 05:07, 18 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

El ChapoEl Chapo (disambiguation) – Joaquín Guzmán is the primary topic. page views JFH (talk) 01:41, 20 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hold on. The page views in the link are for Joaquín Guzmán not for El Chapo. How is that evidence? In ictu oculi (talk) 13:13, 21 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
The page views are for each of the entries, showing that Joaquín Guzmán is by far the most notable El Chapo. His notability is not fleeting either as I think one could tell by reading the lead of his article. Major press refers to him as El Chapo and it seems likely they will continue to do so.--JFH (talk) 17:05, 21 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Right he's the most notable Joaquín Guzmán. But that test doesn't show that everyone looking up El Chapo expects to find Joaquín Guzmán. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:04, 21 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Okay, IIO, how's this: pageviews for Guzmán and the El Chapo DAB page. Compare the two on logarithmic scale, and you can tell that El Chapo means Guzman to our readers. Nohomersryan (talk) 07:14, 23 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. Although WP:RECENT should be considered, subject has been in the news for years and the current page views appear to be overwhelming. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 04:01, 21 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - Despite "recentism" concerns, "El Chapo" shall be redirected to Guzman per statistics. George Ho (talk) 03:22, 26 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

El Chapo (disambiguation)Chapo (disambiguation) – The word "Chapo" is used on its own to refer to multiple things; El Chapo is just one of those things. The page already lists "Chapo", a Peruvian drink, "Chapo Lake", a place, and various other people named "Chapo." Therefore, I think we should make this page title more generalized.
