Cutoff for school closures?

Individual private schools have closed for short periods, or longer e.g. Eastside Preparatory School through mid-April on the Eastside [1]. Not sure if this should be mentioned here. ☆ Bri (talk) 00:48, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

Bri, I think school and company/office closures are worth mentioning, especially in general terms (i.e., total number of school closures) and in the context of other disruptions and economic impact. Figures by day table

This is my first time editing a Wiki page and noticed that the Washington table of cumulative cases and deaths differed substantially from what they have on their page. I did not go all the way back to their first case as there were many days where no new cases nor deaths occurred. If you check the history you will note that I was unsuccessful two previous times and then did some incremental changes. Is there any way we can link back to the original source data for Washington State Department of Health so that the daily counts can be verified? I've been trying to trace it back on the website but I am not sure how to find it. It may be user error on my part, and if it is, I'd appreciate a pointer on how to find it. DOH doesn't appear to be keeping track of daily counts but the Internet Archive has snapshots of their tabulation since February 29 [2]. ☆ Bri (talk) 23:46, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

@Bri: One of my teammates contacted DOH and they provided us with a spreadsheet of the numbers they used to update the website. I now have historical daily numbers going all the way back to the first case on 21 January. We also have positive counts from 21 Jan to present and negative counts from 8 Mar to present. (The spreadsheet data ends on 19 Mar, but I've been starting to screenshot DoH site since then.) If you are interested, I'd be happy to share. Not sure what the best way to share the data would be, but the spreadsheet came direct from an email from DoH. I think it's awesome that we now have counts that can now trace back to the original source at DoH.

How easy is it to use a table like one on CA and NY pages? Our cases and death tables are getting to crammed horizontally. Sounds like Bri has got all the data we need. I think it's really important to show the individual numbers of deaths per day. This is BY FAR the single most reliable signal of the spread of the disease, superior to the number of cases. The number of cases is affected by the dramatic changes in the number of tests being administered. More tests will lead to more cases. While the same is not true for deaths. Please include a table with the number of deaths, perhaps like the one in the California article on this topic. (apologies for lack of etiquette - this is my first wikipedia edit of nay kind.) 4/21/2020 There should be a graph showing daily percent growth of cases and deaths. That is mathematically much more meaningful than just cases per day or deaths per day. Also I've noticed the numbers keep changing on the cases and death totals per day. Everyday there are different numbers going as far back as mid March. 5/2/2020 I noticed that the "most recent 15 days" button displays appropriately if it is the only button toggled, but instead omits the most recent 15 days if it is toggled along with the other buttons. Maybe someone has a subscription or knows how to access this? I heard part of the show on-air, and they described the Everett patient as the index case in the United States. I haven't seen anything in the article yet about unemployment benefits (provided by Washington State Employment Security Department redlink, hint hint). City-specific charts?

Is it possible to get city-specific charts, particularly for Seattle vs. the rest of King County? NY cases take lead over Washington

Yes, I'm trying to nail it down ... Newsweek said that NY exceeded WA on March 9, but I think it was a blip ... at the first edit of March 13 (UTC), just after both states updated official totals, the Wikipedia articles said WA 366/NY 325. Recovered individuals

An anonymous editor with a revolving IPv6 address has been adding unreferenced data on recoveries and I've started using the rollback tool because it's annoying to have to explain repeatedly. This comment stands as my reasoning for using rollback. ☆ Bri (talk) 19:08, 26 March 2020 (UTC)

The problem is reporting this in the state infobox gives the false impression that it is all the recoveries in the state. It is not even close because the largest counties do not report recovery. As I said above there is no source for recoveries across Washington so it should not be reported in the article. Washington State Department of Health has issued no reports for over two days

The Washington DOH web page at https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/Coronavirus states "Please note that we have shifted our reporting process to make it more accurate, timely and complete. We are reporting confirmed cases, laboratory tests and deaths as of the previous day at 11:59 pm PT." To the contrary, they have stopped all reporting of case and death numbers for over two and a half days. The last report was 4,896 cases and 195 deaths as of March 28 (Saturday) at 11:59pm PT. What is going on? Why have they stopped reporting? DOH has been updating [4] daily now for three days. It would be much preferable to use the centrally compiled data, instead of trying to compile our own. One thing DOH does is reconcile duplicated reports, e.g. a resident of one county who is treated in another county. Why did the bar graph values recently all change significantly?

Why did all the values in the bar graph chart recently change significantly? I've been copying your data into my own analysis, so this change is obvious.

Also, why do the history versions of this page not show the historical versions of that chart? The most recent version is what you get, even viewing a page version from weeks ago, It's like the chart is an embedded object, sourced elsewhere, and not maintained as part of the page history. Are you referring to this graph template? It has its own page and history for viewing and is transcluded to the state pandemic page. At the top of the graph box, you can see a small (V•T•E), which means, by clicking on each of them, you may View the template page, its Talk page, or Edit it.
