Notes

edit
  • One disambiguation link, which I went ahead and fixed.
  • There is an error with the Legends of Hockey link, which seems odd. I am not sure if it is temporary or just an issue on my end. Just making a note to check into this.
  • No images, so no issues there.
  • No edit warring, stability is not an issue.

Pickier notes

edit
  • Is there anything on how he came to be known as "Bun"?
  • In the lead, maybe rearrange "...playing on the "Bread Line" with Frank Boucher and his brother Bill Cook." The structure of the sentence makes it sound like Bill Cook is Frank Boucher's brother. Possibly "...with his brother Bill and Frank Boucher."
  • Is he still the all-time leader in AHL coaching wins? The past tense in this sentence (only in the lead, it is clear in the body of the article) makes it unclear.
  • How did the brothers know Frank Boucher, or did they when they were convincing Smythe to sign him?
  • "The Bread Line scored every Rangers goal in the series,[1] and in the second game, Rangers coach Lester Patrick was forced to play goal after regular goaltender Lorne Chabot was injured.". This is interesting, but I am not sure "and" is the proper connection for these two facts. "The second game of the series was notable as Rangers coach Lester Patrick was forced to play goal after..." Patrick playing goal isn't really related to one line scoring all the goals.
  • The LOH external link is already present in the references. And, as noted previously, not working for me. Can you replicate that problem?
  • No issues with references, for either reliability or formatting.

These issues are relatively minor, and if they can be addressed, this article can be promoted. The only weird thing is the LOH link not working. Hopefully that is temporary. Canada Hky (talk) 17:10, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. If I get a chance, I will try to take care of these tonight. If not, hopefully tomorrow. As far as LOH goes, that site has been periodically going down for as long as I've been using it. It should be back in a few hours. Resolute 18:22, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Actually, check that. It is working for me right now. Resolute 18:26, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Works for me now, as well. Scratch that one. Canada Hky (talk) 18:50, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
All should be addressed. The second paragraph of Cook's playing career already explained his nickname... "quick as a Bunny". Cheers! Resolute 01:56, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
The early part of the 1900s had such quaint nicknames. I read that later and didn't go back to remove the comment. Canada Hky (talk) 02:15, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Indeed. If he played today, he'd be called "Cooker" or something equally lame. Resolute 02:36, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
