Mixed entries

There seems to be a lot of confusion here between what is Bantayan the island and what is Bantayan the municipality. A lot of the content on the municipality page should be here, such as language derivation, island history and geography etc. Either the two pages should be merged or properly separated. I propose working on the latter, which means moving a lot of that info off the municpality page and onto this one. In addition I want to incorporate a lot more detail onto the municipality page (mainly).

The islands around

Anyone know what the surrounding islands are? I commented some of the list out, because I have a 1:250000 sea chart and I can't see them all. I think the best classification would be inhabited (if there are any) V uninhabited. Some of the places with names are probably little more than a muddy pebble. Trouble with citation

1. I don't know how to make a proper citation for reference 4, in Language section. This is both a printed book and an identical website.
2. Would now be a good time to remove the no-references tag?
3. Also, I don't consider this still a stub.

I corrected the cite format for #4. It is a book primarily, the fact that it has a website version only helps in linking to the book as a convenience link. I changed the no ref tag to refimprove. It still needs many more references. I believe you are correct in that this isn't a stub anymore. However, I will only upgrade it to a start class. Expanding book cites with page numbers

There are several footnotes which have referred to book titles (or volumes) but have not specified the page numbers to read. Some of those books can be found online and, perhaps, searched for the related text, to get more page numbers to insert into the cites. -Wikid77 (talk) 16:52, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

• Try searching in google books. It is overwhelmingly for the island which has been around much longer than the modern municipality of course, like Maui vs Maui County, Tinian vs Tinian Municipality and Sakhalin vs Sakhalin Oblast. I suppose this Category:Islands of Bantayan lists the islands of the Bantayan group not islands of the municipality. • Oppose. I just want 'Island' like other islands, 'municipality' like other municipalities.
  (The islands of Bantayan are basically on the east to Santa Fe and the west are to Bantayan municipality, except Patao in Madridejos. • Aren't you that category's creator? So when you say Islands of Bantayan, did you mean "Islands of Bantayan Island" or "Islands of Bantayan, Cebu"? What about the other category? Actually it is common practice for articles on islands to have plain name titles, like Boracay, Mactan, Olutanga, Jolo and Culion.--RioHondo (talk) 03:14, 16 November 2015 (UTC)
