Sherry Ansky's book appears to be contradicted by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs's 1999 webpage on avocado salads, where it says, "until recently" avocados "were not grown in Israel at all", until they meant the 1920s by "recently"?Zigzig20s (talk) 20:38, 9 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

This document gives 1908 as the date the first avocado trees were planted in what is now Israel. This document says the commercial industry began in the 1950s. Also see [1]. All three of those pdfs are from avocadosource.com, I don't know how reliable it is. Mathew5000 (talk) 07:50, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
