I doubt his name "Gayu". I think that "Masaari" is right as encyclopedia's entry. "Gayu" is a kind of nickname（ja:有職読み） like 藤原俊成"Shunzei", 藤原定家"Teika". I don't know English encyclopedia of persons, but I know Japanese dictionary. And there are generally written entries "あすかい（ゐ）まさあり ", "ふじわらのとしなり" and "ふじわらのさだいえ（へ）", and are not generally written "しゅんぜい" and "ていか". In particular written isn't "がゆう".
