Cyber Propaganda

This still reads like an advertisement and contains an incredible amount of misinformation. For instance, "as of this writing, Algeria is home to only a handful of Jews, because of the Islamist governments of the 1990s" is an extremely loaded (and silly) statement when the overwhelming majority of Algerian Jews moved to France in the 50s and 60s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:E34:EC05:37A0:C842:749C:7681:5C0C (talk) 06:56, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Conflict of Interest

JDC Marcom (talk · contribs) has written most of this article. [1] His username and his recent addition to other articles of external links to the JDC suggests he's associated with the organization.

I don't know whether the article is a copy-and-paste from the JDF website, but it reads like a fund-raising brochure, not an encyclopedia article. When I have the time, I'll try to cut down on the puffery. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 21:33, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Hey CutOffTies (talk): The JDC internship is not a conflict of interest given that the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee is looking to connect Wikipedia with their digitized collections -- which is completely in line with the GLAM-Wiki initiative. And I think the initial 2009 effort to create a comprehensive Wikipedia entry is forgivable as it is pretty clear the person who made the entry did not understand Wikipedia. This entry obviously needs to be corrected, but this is a respected, notable, historically important organization. The concern is the fact that a lot of other editors have not done that. If I have time I will try to correct it, but I am in the middle of a couple of other efforts. -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 05:42, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

Removal of warning "this reads like an advertisement."

Since this warning was FIRST posted, many editors have worked to improve this important article. The "Joint" achieved many Jewish and other refugee rescues. Kacser (talk) 13:53, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

Removal of warning that article needs more references

Aid Error

Under the "History" section of the end of the second paragraph there is an error with the format of the number. I'm not sure if the comma is incorrectly placed or if it there is an extra five for the amount of aid sent to Russia. Bedrockbob (talk) 20:30, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
