Al Jazeera InvestigatesAl Jazeera Investigative Unit – This program has changed the name, it used to be called Al Jazeera Investigates, now it is being called Al Jazeera Investigative Unit. To make it easier for users to search for this program, a proposal to change the name is necessary. • I must admit to being confused about this. The home page for this series is titled "Al Jazeera: Investigations" and this is reflected in the logo in the infobox, as it is in several of the sources used in the article such as this. Where is a source that supports the name change? --AussieLegend () 07:49, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • The Official title for this program is Al Jazeera Investigative Unit. Al Jazeera Invesitgates is their Title Card for broadcasts. Also. their podcasts are called Al Jazeera Investigates The Podcast. There is a whole page on Al Jazeera that has their Unit name listed:
      https://www.aljazeera.com/profile/al-jazeera-investigative-unit.html\
    • In their about page here:
https://www.aljazeera.com/investigations/ they refer to their program as "Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit does not report the news. It makes the news. We reveal secrets and expose truths surrounded by silence."
    • I know it is confusing, but everyone in the TV industry knows them as The Al Jazeera Investigative Unit.Hasan Rrahmani (talk) 08:01, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
      • I have seen the page that you linked to but on that very same page it still shows "Al Jazeera: Investigations". What is written in the section titled "Investigations" doesn't support a name change for the program. In fact, the mere fact that the section is titled "Investigations" supports "Al Jazeera: Investigations" as being the correct name. Whether or not everyone in the TV industry knows them as The Al Jazeera Investigative Unit is really irrelevant. You need a citation from a third party source to support your claim before any move could be considered. --AussieLegend () 10:06, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
        • Currently the wiki page name is "Al Jazeera Investigates" this should be changed to at least Al Jazeera Investigations, this would then reflect and match all their content. Agree? Hasan Rrahmani (talk) 10:19, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
        • Also, here is third party article referring to them as Al Jazeera Investigative Unit. https://www.namibian.com.na/196384/archive-read/Al-Jazeeras-investigative-reporter-explains-Fishrot Hasan Rrahmani (talk) 10:24, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
        • Here is also NYT Article referring to them as AJI Unit [1] Hasan Rrahmani (talk) 10:27, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
          • This article is supposed to be about a TV program. The links all seem to say the same thing, the unit is called the "Al Jazeera Investigative Unit" but the program is called "Al Jazeera: Investigations". --AussieLegend () 13:26, 10 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
            • I can see how confusing it can be. But the programme strand is called The Al Jazeera Investigative Unit. Their title card is Al Jazeera Investigations. The Wiki page name should change from Al Jazeera Investigates to Al Jazeera Investigations. This will be consistent with all of the links we have shared. • Relisting note: from reading the above discussion, it may be beneficial for Hasan Rrahmani to add a postscript to their nomination to provide clarity with regards to the points AussieLegend raises so as to ensure other !voters can understand upon which policies and guidelines and supporting evidence this request is based. SITH (talk) 11:32, 17 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose move as proposed - From what I can see the unit that conducts the investigations is "The Al Jazeera Investigative Unit" but the program name is actually Al Jazeera: Investigations so that should be the name of the article. --AussieLegend () 13:37, 17 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: The title Al Jazeera: Investigations has been proposed as an alternative move location.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Steel1943 (talk) 21:16, 24 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. Most (not quite all) of the above (and especially the nominator's rationale) is discardable as showing no understanding of the issues. A redirect from the (claimed) official name is a good idea, and it has been there for almost three years now, and completely addresses the issue they raised. If and when reliable secondary sources adopt the new name then we can adopt it too, but the evidence so far is a bit both ways. As this RM has been relisted twice now, I suggest we move on. Template Removal? edit

Hello fellow Wikipedeans. As per the request in the template, I have added some secondary and tertiary citation sources.

I have not removed a template in any of my other edits, so far and I am not sure of the protocol. Should I now remove it? Or will another editor/admin take a look at my additions and do it? I would be grateful for some future guidance, in any event. Thank you. Andrew. Andrew Tevis (talk) 19:08, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Further to above and having asked for guidance in the Teahouse, I have now removed the template. Thank you, Andrew. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrew Tevis (talkcontribs) 16:31, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
