seven quid six pence thousand? What is that in actual number please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.42.205.93 (talk) 15:33, 11 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think the figure is UKP 8.58 thousand, and presumably means UKP 8580. You are quite right, if this is what it means, this is what it ought to say. TheAMmollusc (talk) 11:56, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
I see what you mean, there is more than one of these in that sentence. In any case, I don't think that 'equivalent to xxx today' ought to be included at all on an encyclopedia page, and certainly not an on-line one. When is 'today' for the reader of the article? OK, done... I've removed it. I see that I was wrong, and that it was a dynamic calculation performed by the Wikipedia software on today's date... but don't ask me how it was supposed to work, or how it managed to end up displaying such odd output. In any case, I still didn't feel that it contributed anything to the story, and it is gone now. TheAMmollusc (talk) 06:38, 12 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
