A single-plane crash is usually considered notable if it kills civilian bystanders on the ground. Also, the crash was one of a series of incidents involving US military assets that injured or killed Japanese citizens or damaged Japanese facilities or equipment (see Ehime Maru and USS Greeneville collision) since the end of WWII and have caused consternation and controversy in Japan. Wonder if there are any similar incidents involving Japanese military aircraft where Japanese civilians were killed or injured with a Wiki article - suspect the notability rests with it being a U.S. military aircraft involved...
