Meshkan Rural District (Khoshab County)

Meshkan Rural District (Persian: دهستان مشکان), formerly Darreh Yam Rural District (دهستان دره يام), is in Meshkan District of Khoshab County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. It is administered from the city of Meshkan.[3]

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the former Khoshab District of Sabzevar County) was 10,607 in 2,660 households.[4] There were 5,078 inhabitants in 1,320 households at the following census of 2011, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Khoshab County.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 5,333 in 1,565 households. The most populous of its 14 villages was Meshkan (now a city), [6] with 3,540 people.[2]
