Why is Canada marked in red? There are no confirmed deaths.

Because red means confirmed cases. Confirmed deaths are marked black.

Well I read up on my history on the CNN it killed 50 million people during 1918-1919. The population has more then tripled, The best cure for it currectly is Tamiflu and Relenza. Their is currently no vacine for this illeness.

Colors of countries

Using the black color for countries in which deaths were detected is a bit "darkening" and overly alarming to my taste. Soon the whole world will be "blacked out", leaving white borders in between.

Maybe, but this isn't the Spanish Flu. This isn't something that happened in 1918. This is happening today. And the connotation of black is not warranted by one death in the United States and less than two hundred in Mexico. Even if this was the article for Spanish Flu I would recommend changing the colors.
