Michihiko Suwa is an anime producer born in 1959 in Japan. He began working in television in 1983, where he soon started in animation. His first work in this field was Robotan, in 1986; and City Hunter, in 1987 (he also produced the movie City Hunter: Shinuku Private Eyes, released in 2019). Since then, he has produced many titles, such as YAWARA!, The Kindaichi Case Files, InuYasha, Kekkaishi, Magic Knight Rayearth and Black Jack. However, the greatest highlight of his career was his work on Detective Conan, on air since 1996. Besides the series, he has also produced more than 20 movies of this franchise. He has even become a character in the show.[1][2]

He has received different awards, like the 32nd Fujimoto Award for excellent in Japanese movie production in 2013. He is also a member of Nihon Academy, an association of Japanese movie awards.[3]

In 2022, he supervised the animated movie Child of Kamiari Month, released on Netflix.[4]

He has participated in different events around the world,[5] such as Anime Summit Chibi, in Brasília, Brazil, in 2023.[6]
