WP:Japan edit

The assistance of members of WP:JAPAN is sought. Many Japanese ships names were rendered in plain text when there are diacritics on various letters in the ships name. For example, the ship reported as SS Gyoku Maru is really SS Gyōkū Maru. I understand the reason that this sort of thing happened. Back in the 1940s, they didn't have the technology to produce letters with diacritics. Seventy-odd years on, we do. My thoughts are "We have the technology, so let's use it".
