This poll/discussion follows that request for comments. The issue is whether article creation should be restricted to autoconfirmed users (and confirmed users). In order to create an article, new users would have to wait until they are autoconfirmed or use the article wizard/article for creation process. The debate is motivated by issues such as how to reduce the number of problematic new pages and how to accommodate new users. A trial has been proposed to allow the community to make an informed decision on the issue.

Trial proposal

It is proposed that a trial where creation of articles will be restricted to (auto)confirmed users be conducted for three months. The trial will be preceded by a preparation period of one month where its organization will be discussed and the article wizard/article for creation system reviewed. The trial will then be evaluated by the community in order to make an informed decision on the issue. Do you support or oppose the proposed trial ?

Automatic reversion

In the event the trial is accepted, should we automatically revert to the present situation (i.e., unconfirmed registered users are allowed to create articles) at the end of the trial ? If we don't, a reversion to the present situation will occur after three more months unless there is consensus to do otherwise. (In case of lack of consensus on this question, the default option is automatic reversion.)
