Wikipedia:Anti Spam Identity Conceal

(Redirected from Wikipedia:ASIC)

Editing Wikipedia is a hobby but if you have chosen to work in WP:WPSPAM specifically in undisclosed paid editing which is major aspect of spam, it however still remains a hobby but you must realize that by volunteering to work there, your edits now have real life very dangerous consequences and you must do all you can to conceal your real life identity.

Must Avoid

edit
  1. Stating your real name
  2. Stating your place of work
  3. Where you can be found
  4. Giving your mobile phone number to any editor via e-mail or by any other means
  5. Linking your social media to your userpage or anywhere on-wiki.
  6. Participating in Wiki related real life events, competitions, celebrations or anything that requires your presence.
  7. Answering questions from any editor that could lead to you being doxxed or any question that possesses the potential of you being doxxed if answered.

Must Do

edit
  1. use a very strong password that is a combination of alphanumerics and symbols. There isn’t circumventing this, as it is a prerequisite for step two mentioned below.
  2. Having completed step 1 above, if you really fight spam, you may be a target of hackers, in order to avoid being hacked, go to your preferences and enable 2FA. (For example after exposing possible UPE/unethical practices here several attempts were made to hack my account), so in order to avoid your account being hacked and enable you to edit here with peace of mind, please do enable 2FA in your preferences, not all accounts have 2FA already enabled hence if you fall under accounts without 2FA you should apply for 2FA here and give valid rationales with diffs as to why you need 2FA enabled.

Protect Your Identity At All Cost

edit

You have voluntarily chosen to work in this area thus the onus is on you to protect your identity, it is behoove of you and there is no circumnavigating protecting your identity. Always remember, your actions have real life impact which have caused UPE editors to lose funds, organizations to lose funds, and individuals to be put out of work. If your identity were to be exposed you have become a potential target, always guard your identity.
