The transmitter and broadcast tower are located about ten miles southeast of Henderson. According to the Antenna Structure Registration database, the tower is 293 m (961 ft) tall with the FM broadcast antenna mounted at the 284 m (932 ft) level.[4] The calculated Height Above Average Terrain is 311 m (1,020 ft). The FM antenna array is a FM10/8 manufactured by SWR.[5]

The station signed on as WHNC-FM in 1948, later becoming WXNC.[1] The call sign changed to WYFL on October 3, 1981.[2]
