  3. Argentine government document on the claim (mostly about the Falklands)

    1. Document it responds to - not very helpful in establishing a claim since the SGSSI suddenly show up half way through

Maps that would be useful edit

  • UK. Falkland Islands and Dependencies/BAT under the 1917 and 1962 Letters Patent.
    • 1917: Falkland Islands in one colour, and the dependencies in another. Dependencies are all land between 80°W and 20°W south of 50°S, except area north of 58°S and west of 50°W.
    • 1962: Same, but British Antarctic Territory (everywhere south of 60°S in the above) coloured separately.
  • Argentina. Tierra del Fuego Province.
    • Argentine Tierra del Fuego in one colour, disputed territories in another. Disputed territories are Falklands, SGSSI, all land south of 60°S between 74°W and 25°W. Maybe Antarctic in a third colour for Antarctic Treaty, and mainland Argentina in a fourth colour.
  • Chile. Map not needed here but if these maps are used elsewhere then we should have a Chilean one as well. Chilean Magellan region - as currently - plus disputed territory (Antarctic & South Patagonian ice field) in another. Chilean Antarctic claim is all land south of 60°S between 90°W to 53°W. Mainland Chile in a third.

For Chile and Argentina there's no need to show the entire countries, only as much as is necessary to show the entire administrative division. Pfainuk talk 19:27, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is a good workpage so far, good enough to eventually become its own article I reckon. I typed "sovereignty of South Georgia" into Google and this was the first result. :) Christopedia (talk) 08:37, 7 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks :). I'm not sure how much more I'll do on it before I let everyone else has a go. It'll probably need checking for NPOV and some fact-checking first (since the Argentine version is quite tricky to source) and it needs some maps. Pfainuk talk 17:33, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
I randomely came upon this page looking for information on google. I've recently been trying to assist with the Falklands pages, and just thought I'd let you know that I also think this page looks really good, and as near as I can tell the information is valid, accurate and neutral.
