Legacy JavaScript edit

Hello! This script has been detected as using deprecated parameters that need to be replaced with the updated version. Examples include addOnloadHook( ... ) needs to be replaced with $( function() { ... } ); all wgGlobalVariables need to be properly gotten with mw.config.get( 'wgGlobalVariable' ); and addPortletLink needs to be called with mw.util.addPortletLink. Please see MW:ResourceLoader/Legacy JavaScript for details. Thank you. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 20:27, 19 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Trouble updating status edit

Can only update status by purging cache. Tried clearing browser data and bypassing cache. These templates used to work fine. Don't know what happened. Huggums537 (talk) 23:47, 13 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Huggums537, I have made it purge the cache. Try it now? Enterprisey (talk!) 05:19, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
It's actually been working great since you did the update. Just forgot to thank you for it. Thanks very much! Huggums537 (talk) 17:04, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Enterprisey. Huggums537 informs me that you've made some improvements to your StatusChanger.js, which I see in the history. I'm not versed in JavaScript, but I am interested in learning about the improvements you've made, particularly if it relates to the alternative account discussion we've had (§ StatusChanger).
Note: Your documentation appears to link to other users' scripts, but not your own. — CJDOS, Sheridan, OR (talk) 05:35, 18 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@CJDOS, I fixed the documentation, thanks for pointing that out. I am not currently inclined to write code to support the use-case of the alternative account because it doesn't seem like a common use-case; if someone wanted to write whatever patch is necessary, I would be happy to accept it. I hate to be nitpicky, but the script documentation suggests using Template:Install user script to manually install the script. That installer template displays a notice that it's no longer supported, and suggests alternate templates. — CJDOS, Sheridan, OR (talk) 08:45, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yup, I've been putting that off for a while. I started an IANB discussion just now on it. Enterprisey (talk!) 09:02, 22 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
