Sexual harassment in education in Bangladesh is an unwelcome behavior of a sexual nature that interferes with a Bangladeshi student's ability to learn, study, work or participate in school activities. It encompasses a range of actions, from verbal comments and gestures to physical assault, and is prevalent across various educational settings, majorly in Islamic schools.

In July 2019, at least five Bangladeshi Islamic school teachers were arrested on charges of rape against boys and girls. Several senior students were also arrested for the rape and beheading of an 11-year-old orphan. These incidents have led to national scrutiny and debate. Students from poorer and rural backgrounds, whose parents send them to madrasas due to their affordability compared to secular schools, are disproportionately affected by the abuse.[1][2]

Rights activists have stated that the assaults are so pervasive that the cases reported in the media are just the tip of the iceberg.[1][2]
