Santander International is an offshore bank offering banking and savings accounts to Channel Island and Isle of Man residents, UK expats and UK residents who have international banking needs and Corporate Banking solutions for Channel Island and Isle of Man domiciled companies.[1] They also offer mortgages to Isle of Man residents. Santander International is a branch of Santander UK plc and part of the Banco Santander Group.
History
editIn December 2016, the Jersey branch of Santander Private Banking and Santander Corporate Banking rebranded with the Isle of Man branch of Santander to form Santander International. The new brand united the three organisations under one entity, combining the offering across both jurisdictions and ensuring customers were able to benefit from a broader selection of services.

Santander International provides personal, select, and private banking services for residents of the Channel Islands and Isle of Man, as well as UK expats. International banking and savings accounts are also offered to UK resident, and non-domiciled customers.[2] The bank also provides banking and savings accounts for corporate and trust structures, including Self-Invested Personal Pensions and other types of pension structures and Private Investment Companies. Santander International also offers mortgages for Isle of Man residents. Santander International operates both telephone and online banking for account holders.
Santander International is authorised in Jersey by the Jersey Financial Services Commission, and authorised in the Isle of Man by the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority.
All accounts opened with Santander UK plc, Jersey Branch have situs in Jersey and therefore are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme established under the UK Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 or by the Isle of Man Depositors' Compensation Scheme. Santander UK plc, Jersey Branch is a participant in the Jersey Bank Depositors Compensation Scheme[3][4].
All accounts opened with Santander UK plc, Isle of Man Branch have situs in the Isle of Man and therefore are covered by the Isle of Man Depositors' Compensation Scheme as set out in the Isle of Man Depositors' Compensation Scheme Regulations 2010 and not covered by the UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme or by the Jersey Bank Depositors Compensation Scheme[5].
