RemmiQue is a Nigerian rap/hip hop artist, brought up in the street of Lagos Nigeria. He is regarded as one of the treet new school rappers premiering out of Nigeria.

Early life

Hassan Remilekun, popularly known as RemmiQue, was born on August 3. He was raised by his mother, and grew up on the streets of mushin in Lagos Nigeria. RemmiQue attended Moskol international Nursery and primary school, Mushin, moving on to Eko Boys High School in Mushin Lagos, before being admitted into National Open University. As an undergraduate at National Open University, RemmiQue began actively pursuing a music career, performing across various rap events, comedy events and competitions. He met producer Williams who helped groom and nurture his talent.[1]

Musical beginnings

RemmiQue was already an established underground act, by the time he was studying at the university, with numerous underground hits and features in local videos. While studying, he decided to pursue a career in music.[2] He began to getting recognition from there.

Music career

RemmiQue released his first official single Wanted, in August 2015. The song which was produced by Williams, was largely successful, and with about 10,000 Downloads on all music platforms.[3]

In February 2016, RemmiQue followed his debut single with a double release, the critically acclaimed Wanted featuring and the next release being, Omo Oloja a dance song dedicated to the streets where he was raised.

On 3 August 2018, his birthday, he released “Studio Rap Freestyle” featuring No one, with heavy bars and punchlines. Inspired by the Street.

RemmiQue credits 2pac, Nas, Base one, and Nigerian indigenous rapper Dagrin, as his biggest musical influences.
