William Carl Meier (born August 1, 1940) is an American attorney who represented district 10 of the Texas Senate from 1973 to 1983. Speaking for 43 hours straight, he broke the record for longest filibuster in history. After his time in the Texas Senate, Meier was a judge of the Texas Second District Court of Appeals.
