Thomas & Friends series 10

Thomas (the Tank Engine) & Friends is a children's television series about the engines and other characters working on the railways of the Island of Sodor, and is based on The Railway Series books written by the Reverend W. Awdry. The 10th Series of this show was first broadcast in 2006. This series was narrated by Michael Angelis for the UK audiences, and Michael Brandon in the US. Most episodes in this series had different titles in UK and the US.

Series chronology

This was the last series to utilize the instrumental chorus of the Engine Roll Call in the opening sequence. Starting from Series 11, the lyrics were incorporated into the theme sequence and sung by children. Starting with this series, all 30-minute episodes included only two mini-episodes.

This was Jocelyn Stevenson's last series as executive producer. Sharon Miller remained as script editor.

A brand new jet plane arrives at the Airport and his name is Jeremy. He boasts to Thomas about being able to fly and see everything at once, making Thomas wish he was a jet plane, too. He flies over Thomas who is at a signal, but when a storm looms in and ruins the children's picnic in the Countryside, Thomas comes up with the idea of having the picnic in Jeremy's Hangar.

Duncan is taking a clock tower's bell to be polished, but the chiming distracts him on his journey, and he ignores the other Narrow Gauge engines' warnings about going slowly with it.

Thomas is assigned to collect a Christmas tree from the Wharf, but when Duncan teases him while he is looking for the tree, Thomas refuses help from the other narrow gauge engines, thinking they are teasing him, too. Thomas finds a covered flatbed loaded with pipes, and, mistaking it for the Christmas tree, tries to take it, but accidentally pushes it into the canal. Sir Handel and Skarloey show Thomas where the tree is, and Duncan apologizes for his teasing.

Finally, Thomas tricks a signalman into diverting James onto an overgrown and unused track, resulting in his decorations getting ruined. When Thomas goes for help, he sees that Bertie has broken down while taking the children to the football game. Thomas offers to help Bertie by taking the children, and asks them to redecorate James using their scarves and flags.

Thomas decides to cheer Skarloey up by taking him on a tour of the Island. None of the sights surprise him, though. And Thomas does not pay attention to the old coupling on Skarloey's flatbed truck, or the steepness of Gordon's Hill.
