linking more than just the U+?!

the link is supposed to be there to describe what the U+ means so extending the link beyond that is rather misleading imo Plugwash 17:20, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Template usage seems excessively complicated

Why does the template require that one write {{U+|1234}}? It would be simpler to use and to implement if the usage were simply {{U+}}1234.
