Sarlacc? edit

Would this even be considered a character? Let alone a major character?--FifthCylon (talk) 15:06, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see your point. I think it might fit more on the Star Wars Species template. Jhenderson777 (talk) 15:10, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Defining major characters? edit

Hey guys. How do you think we should define major characters for Star Wars on this template. I was originally leaving it with the recurring characters in the films (Not the introductive expanded universe characters that is). But do you think it could be expanded with any Star Wars character who has their own article? Thoughts. Jhenderson 777 19:12, 19 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I was planning on proposing changing this from major characters to any old characters myself when I found out you'd made this discussion. "Major" is a very subjective term, you could make a fair case for a dozen characters being "major". I think it should be any character who has an article. Splitting it into EU and Film characters is a good enough division, no need to make decisions on whether characters are major or not. Oh, and should Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress be listed under EU characters? Harry Blue5 (talk) 21:18, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
Asajj Ventress was introduced in the Expanded Universe so maybe even though she she did appear in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars (film). As for Ahsoka, well that depends if you count if you count the Clone Wars film an expanded universe. Jhenderson 777 22:02, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
If it helps, the television series and the film are "T-Canon", television-canon, which consists of The Clone Wars and the upcoming live-action series. It's just above C-Canon and below G-Canon. Yeah, I don't really understand it either, just go with it. I personally believe that the "Expanded Universe" consists of anything that is not the film, but I don't think I've actually got any reliable sources that say that. Harry Blue5 (talk) 22:30, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
I am fine with it. After all the expanded universe article states that it's anything outside the six feature films. So I am in favor with it. Jhenderson 777 14:46, 2 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Right then, so "major characters" or "any character with articles"? I vote the latter. Harry Blue5 (talk) 22:12, 2 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am not fully supporting the every character with articles but any character who has a article that has proven notability. That's why I haven't placed Admiral Ackbar, Luminara Unduli, Freedon Nadd and Jacen Solo yet. I am hoping for a good list article placement for them. And Tag and Bink are hardly canon at all. Jhenderson 777 22:21, 2 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

But aside from issues with the actual articles, any character (providing that they, of course, show notability) should be allowed onto the template, right? Harry Blue5 (talk) 11:49, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes. That's pretty much how I am determining it right now. Is that ok for you? :) Jhenderson 777 18:38, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Fine by me. Should we rename the template then? Harry Blue5 (talk) 18:59, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Maybe. Any template name ideas? Jhenderson 777 17:24, 6 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Template:Star Wars characters. Nice, simple, to the point, and I can include it on the lists. Harry Blue5 (talk) 12:33, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
  Done. :) Jhenderson 777 15:55, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Although I might have a redirecion problem that I can't fix right because of lunch breack. If you can please do. Jhenderson 777 15:58, 7 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's a trap edit

I added Admiral Ackbar to the template. I saw that there was some hesitation in doing so in the past until his notability could be established, but I think in light of recent expansions to his article, that notability has been established now, so I've added him. Please let me know if anyone objects. — Hunter Kahn 15:14, 28 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Rebels edit

I notice Kanan Jarrus is present in the template, but not other characters from Star Wars Rebels, such as Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren or even Ezra Bridger. Is there a particular reason for Kanan's inclusion only? --71.194.19.81 (talk) 02:03, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

He's the only one from the show with a standalone article at this point, and we don't typically use redirects in nav templates.— TAnthonyTalk 02:07, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
