Boundaries of the park edit

I've always thought that the park was contained within Edwin Smith drive, Frome Rd and WMD, but the source cited in the lead does indeed claim it extends all the way to North Terrace, including such parks as Torrens Parade Ground and the Pathway of Honour. This seems illogical to me, but the source is there. Perhaps they were grouped together as it was the only logical group into which the minor parks could be added (to avoid unneccesarily numerous individual reports). No map of the city I have ever seen has Park 12 extending across the river.--Yeti Hunter 03:52, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Interesting. I have only ever seen one map. It shows the southern boundary of Park 12 as North Terrace.

Do you have any links to other maps showing park boundaries? Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 02:54, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
No, this one is easily the best I have seen. It puts my earlier comments to rest.--Yeti Hunter (talk) 08:10, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Just to cloud the issue(!!), have a look at these: [2] [3] Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 12:29, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Relisted move discussion edit

The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Page moved to University Oval, Adelaide. There are several options here and multiple opinions. Reading through this, I believe this is the consensus. Relisting would not have really helped. If this move is an issue, renominate. Since the options should be fewer it might make determining consensus easier. Vegaswikian (talk) 20:29, 3 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

University Oval (Park 12), AdelaideUniversity Oval (Park 12) — This was discussed at Talk:Light Square, Adelaide#Requested move, but I'm relisting it here so that it can be discussed separately. The arguments made in the earlier discussion should of course be taken into account when this is decided (so there's no reason for everyone to repeat what was said there.) As concluded at Talk:Light Square#Requested move, there does not appear to be much, if any, support for this move. Pdfpdf (talk) 02:48, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

However:

Move University Oval (Park 12), AdelaidePark 12
Create University Oval, Adelaide as a redirect to Park 12#University Oval

Park 10? edit

Park 10 (see Park 10 and Adelaide_Park_Lands#Park 10) is also well occupied by the university, and also contains a grandstand erected & maintained by the University. Does anybody know anything about the relationship between the University Oval area and the University licensed bits of Park 10? Pdfpdf (talk) 10:44, 6 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Park 10 between War Memorial Drive, Frome Rd, Mackinnon Parade and Bundeys Rd is mainly used by Adelaide Uni. The small bit near the corner of WMD and Bundeys Rd is the Adelaide Archery Club and further around on WMD the Adelaide City Council nursery and compost area. The University has groundsmen based at Park 12 (behind the main Grandstand) and at Park 10 next to the ACC nursery. Collectively the University and AU Sports Association refer to the fields as Park 12 (Uni 1 & 2, north pitch and south pitch), Graduates Oval (next to Frome Rd on Park 10 side), the Neck and Park 10 (Park 10 Oval, Lacrosse and reserve soccer/ lacrosse training field). A head groundsmen controls all the fields and bookings are made through the AUSA. Formerly the University also controlled Park 9 across the road on Bundeys Rd.
