Cleanup (September 2007)
editI just put a cleanup tag on this article. It appears to be changing rapidly so may not be totally necessary, but here's what I think the page needs:
- More inline citations.
- Removing links to images. They don't (usually) qualify as references.
- Removing links to commercial websites or sites with a lot of advertisements. This one, for instance.
- A discography section.
- A cleaned-up references section.
- The trivia section to be integrated into the article per Wikipedia:Avoid trivia sections.
I'll see if I can find the time to do some of these. Wyatt Riot 22:44, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I think that it should say the performances as well. that would make this page complete —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.7.178.229 (talk) 12:16, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
2 articles?
editThe article on Gene & The tom-toms should be a separate article. Does anyone think the same thing?Joel.Miles925 (talk) 20:35, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
- Who knows? The article is so poor, and inadequately referenced, I suspect that a stronger case could be made for its deletion. Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:41, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
I was trying to avoid that but I see what you are saying...it might be the best option.Joel.Miles925 (talk) 15:22, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- The article can be improved. But, until you (or someone else) start doing that, the tags should remain. Ghmyrtle (talk) 18:21, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
I agree Joel, the section on the band after Gene Summers joins should be migrated to the Gene Summers article. That article is very short, considering the guy was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, and the biography section ends before any of the Tom Toms stuff is mentioned. So I propose moving that whole paragraph over (and obviously try to clean it up in the process). I'm willing to do it, if you (or someone else) agree?
Whether what is left on this page afterwards is notable or should be deleted, we can see more clearly after? As it stands this is the oldest clean-up tag on wikipedia, let's sort it. Jdcooper (talk) 18:32, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
