First layer mortgage lenders
Would someone please add a list of the top 5 or 10 first layer mortgage lenders in the US? I know that WAMU was the third on the list prior to Fall 2008. I realize that the list content may change over time, but the info is important to those, like myself, who are researching the mortgage industry. Thank you. As of 3Q 2012, the most recent time period for reported numbers: Top 5 servicers as of Q3 2012 from largest are Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase, Citi, US Bank. 'Mortgage Daily, 2012.' Top 5 originators as of Q3 2012 from largest are Wells Fargo, Chase, US Bank, Bank of America, Quicken.
