Disclaimer: I am indeed a big wrestling fan and a frequent editor of professional wrestling articles but the only edits I've ever made to this article is upgrading three "questionable" sources to three reliable ones, nothing else. I am not a member of the Pro Wrestling project either and will review this without bias towards the subject. If you think this is a problem say so and I will withdraw stop reviewing this article. I've done the first run through of the review and I'm placing it on hold with comments.

Info box
  • Names, are they in chronological order? And I'm not sure what the 3rd name is, please clarify
    • Should they be? They are now, if they should. As for the third name, I don't either. It was there when I began editing the article. I assumed it was a name in Japanese, but since I don't know for sure...I removed it.
  • Height & Weight - conversion templates please, also being from Japan she would be listed in Kilos and Meters first, then US equivalents
    • Good point. Done.
  • What does the "~" mean? I've not seen it used in wrestling info boxes before
    • It means approximately.
  • The text says she debuted in 1984, the info box says 1983??
    • Typo. Fixed.
  • Are there really NO pictures at all of her? Nothing?
    • I could probably get a fair use picture of her since she doesn't wrestle anymore. I really hate doing that, though. However, if you think it would benefit the article....I'll do it.
Lead
  • Too short for the article size per WP:LEAD
    • Wikipedia:LEAD#Length says that an article less that 15,000 bytes should have a lead that is one or two paragraphs. This article is ~13,000 bytes.
  • Abbreviation missing for CMLL, WWF and WCW.
    • Added.
  • the term "Feuded" is WP:Jargon and as such should be avoided
    • I defined the term at its first use. Is this acceptable?
Japan
  • Here we begin with the "in universe" problem that many pro wrestling articles suffer from. it's presented as a real competitive sport through out the article, it needs to be addressed before this can be considered anything close to a "Good Article"
  • I'd say that it's "Original Research" to assume that just because you found a source listing 2 WWF matches that those were the only ones they worked, the cited source does not claim that they're the only ones.
    • You're right. I removed the number.
  • Source #10 contradicts that Nakano retired in 1997, stating that she teamed with Dump Matsumoto in 2001 - something also not mentioned in the article.
    • Fixed.
North America
  • "Nakano also traveled to Mexico"... Also in regards to what? You start out by saying "also" but there is nothing preceding it. Maybe mention that she went to Mexico after she stopped working for AJW??
    • Fixed.
  • You mean she lost it 1993, not 2003.
    • Yep. Typo.
  • Reference [12] needs to be at the end of the sentence.
    • Done.
  • I would really like a second source on the cocain comments, it's a Faye interview which is alright for non-contentious material but being found in posession of cocain is a serious comment, it needs a better source or the reference to cocain needs to be removed.
    • I disagree. The statement in the article is not in a quote from Rhonda Sing and seems to me to be a insertion of the author to tie her comments together. In any event, I am willing to compromise by saying something along the lines of "it was rumored that she was found in possession of cocaine...". Normally, I wouldn't include rumors, but when it is reported by a legitimate news source, I think it can be mentioned.
  • Nakano and Hokutu defeated both TOyota and Yoshida but the article only mentions Toyota.
    • Fixed.
Golf
  • She did NOTHING from 1998 to 2004?
    • Well, apparently she teamed with Dump Matsumoto in 2001. ;) I'll try to find something else...
  • So she did not qualify in ´04 and ´05 but in ´06 played for the LPGA anyway?
    • Clarified.
Championships & accomplishments
  • Link names of partners again.
    • Done.
  • Chronologically by organization, so "Wrestling Observer" before "World Wrestling Federation"
    • Done.
Sources
  • Printed sources need chapter names and pages or they're just a general reference to a 400+ page book, so all "Wrestling Title history" sources that do not already have this need to have it added.
  • wrestling-titles.com has not been found to be reliable, should be replaced, this reference has been removed in past Good Article and Feature List reviews.
General
  • Not very board in coverage, pro wrestling & golf yes, but there has to be more for it to be considered "board in coverage", this just describes Nakano the professional, nothing personal.

Final comment, for a woman with such a long and very successful career this article is very short. MPJ-DK (talk) 12:20, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • In agreement with Nikki I am going to go ahead and fail this, less timepressure on improvements. MPJ-DK (talk) 04:11, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
