Class Project -- New Wiki Page edit

Hi there! My groupmates (@Samhivellala and @Flamerune567) and I are in a class called Race, Gender and Medicine and we chose "internalized ableism" as our topic to expand on what is written about it on wikipedia. We decided to make a new page for it so as not to overwhelm the "ableism" page. If you have any feedback for us, please let us know! Gek21 (talk) 13:59, 24 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Samhivellala and Flamerune567: I think that this is a really well-written piece on a subtype of ableism; you've used a range of reliable sources from different authors. Another editor has tagged the article as essay-like, and I suppose they mean that it could be written more concisely and stay more focussed on the topic (it can tend to stray onto broader issues of ableism or other forms of discrimination). So, staying closer to the topic might helpful. Some of the headings are a little odd; I wondered why you have both origins and history discussed separately. Section ordering and heading levels could do with some more thought - perhaps "As a form of oppression" could be a subheading of "impact" and "Campbell's framework" might be better as part of a broader section on "Theoretical Framework". Should Examples come earlier, perhaps. Regardless, there's lots of helpful material here, so thank you for writing it! Klbrain (talk) 13:48, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
