Rename proposal

Renaming this article to Frog mutation and genetic defects would be an improvement. Northamerica1000(talk) 05:52, 31 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • This sentence, from here [[1]],

"Decreasing greenhouse gas emissions may be beneficial, as well as reducing ozone depletion which is believed to negatively affect frog spawn" ,

has little relationship to the overall article, though it might be an important factors regarding frog mutations. Should it be included, additional information would need to be included within the text or new sections added.

  • This section, "Environmental causes of mutation", needs an introductory sentence that clearly defines the content of the section.
  • Myself, I would stick with references from scientific or other prominent institutions as sources of reference rather then individuals and small organizations because of the nature and global importance of the problem. It's possible some very important people in the frog field may look it over. Yes, I realize doing so might make creating the article more difficult.

Frogs and "the pill"

edit

Some linkages have been shown between discarded birth control pills (flushed) and frog mutations. [[3]] (fairuse quote, educational) "Trudeau has been exposing his lab tadpoles to levels of estrogen similar to those found in nature. As the tadpoles develop into frogs, the males show increasing numbers of female ovary cells in their testes, and many are changing gender".--User:Warrior777 (talk) 07:19, 8 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
