As it appears that I am not allowed to edit the article (and certain others), I will post here some information.

A source is Greece and the Balkans: Identities, Perceptions and Cultural Encounters ....

There are few paragraphs about Arbanassi, I suppose as a paradigm of a multilingual community where the name does not indicate an ethnicity of inhabitants. Pp. 26-27. Arbanassi (Arvanitochorion, as its inhabitants called it) was a Greek-speaking community in 18th century which experienced a great prosperity. It was destroyed in 1798 by the bandits of Kirdjali, Muslim irregulars. Information about 19th c. Arbanassi is found in a Greek manuscript written locally by Dimitrakis Georgiades and Father Symeonides (whom a Bulgarian author trans-named to Popsymeonov). The manuscript is in the National Libr. of Sofia.--Euzen (talk) 08:42, 12 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
