Early life and high school
editMaryland attended Carroll Senior High School located in Southlake, Texas. Coming out of high school, Maryland was rated as a three-star recruit where he committed to play college football for the Boston College Eagles.[1][2] However, Maryland decided to de-commit and flip his commitment to play for the SMU Mustangs.[3][4]
College career
editDuring Maryland's freshman season in 2022, he notched 28 receptions for 296 yards and two touchdowns.[5] In the 2023 season, Maryland totaled 54 receptions for 518 yards and seven touchdowns, where for his performance he was named first team all-Conference.[6][7] In SMU's first game of the 2024 season in week zero, Maryland hauled in eight receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown, as he helped the Mustangs to a win over Nevada.[8] For his performance versus Nevada, Maryland was named the ACC receiver of the week.[9]
Personal life
editMaryland is the son of former NFL defensive lineman Russell Maryland.[10][11]
