Perses (son of Perseus)
(Redirected from Perses (son of Andromeda and Perseus))
In Greek mythology, Perses (/ˈpɜːrsiz/; Ancient Greek: Πέρσης) was the son of Andromeda and Perseus, and taken for Achaemenes (of the Pasargadae)[citation needed] as the ancestor of the Persians according to Plato.[1] Apparently the Persians knew the story as Xerxes tried to use it to bribe the Argives during his invasion of Greece, but ultimately failed to do so.[2] Perses was left in Cossaei and with the Oceanid Perse became the father of the Perseides or in other words, Achaemenid Persians.
