Early life and career edit

Subhendu Guha was born in 1942 in Dacca. Subhendu studied in Presidency College, Kolkata, and obtained his M.Tech. and PhD from University of Calcutta.[4]

Subhendu developed a new process for making Amorphous silicon in 1998 after he joined Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai in 1968.[5]

In 1991, he led a team of scientists that made innovations to achieve efficiency solar cells and modules using Thin-film solar cell silicon and also the invention of flexible solar roofing shingles.[6][7]

In 2006, he meant Former President of the United States George W. Bush during the President visit to United Solar[8] He has also served as a panelists on United States of America senate community in energy and natural resources.[9]

Awards and recognition edit

Subhendu is a recipient of Bright Light Award from U.S. Department of Energy,[10] PVSEC 2009 award for outstanding contribution to science and technology of photovoltaic,[11]

Selected publications edit

  • Evolution of PERC from Al-BSF: optimization based on root cause analysis.[12]
  • Backreflector morphology effects and thermodynamic light-trapping in thin-film silicon solar cells.[12]
  • High efficiency multi-junction thin film silicon cells incorporating nanocrystalline silicon.[12]
