It seems to me that the GNU Free Documentation License does not really apply to images: "We have designed this License in order to use it for manuals for free software". I marked this image "licensed under the Creative Commons NonCommercial-ShareAlike License" because that seems to best reflect my intent in creating the diagram and uploading it to Wikipedia.
