File talk:SR71 J58 Engine Airflow Patterns.svg

Request for correction to title.

The image does not show engine airflow patterns as stated. The engine is shown as a featureless object all the way from the compressor entry to the afterburner exit nozzle. There are no arrows showing airflow through the engine. The correct Flight Manual figure is http://www.sr-71.org/blackbird/manual/1/1-20.php as stated in Pratt & Whitney J58.

Suggest a title like: "SR71 nacelle airflow patterns from intake to ejector nozzle"

Note: the much talked-about engine bypass at Mach 3.2 happens totally within the engine and occurs within the featureless object as shown http://www.sr-71.org/blackbird/manual/1/1-20.php. Don't be fooled by the little external bleed arrow. It's closed for high speed flight.Pieter1963 (talk) 21:03, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks a lot for the link to the Flight Manual figure. I was so confused by this image & the main text until I saw that figure... --Dynamicsoar (talk) 02:43, 1 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
