Name Penstemon barbartus Family Plantaginaceae This is the information given on the picture "Image:Penstemon barbartus0.jpg "in wikimedia>

In my opinion, the flower in this picture is: Penstemon Parryi and anyways, penstemons belong to the Scrophulariaceae family, not the Plantaginaceae as written here.

misidentified image edit

Photo identified as Penstemon barbatus is not, as P. barbatus has retrorse lower petals that are pointed, not rounded as in the picture. I am unsure of the species, but I also have never seen this color in Penstemon parryi, and the flower shape seems not right as well.

I agree, not P. barbatus nor P. parryi. It would be helpful to know where the photo was taken to help put a proper identification on it.botanybob (talk) 00:39, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
