I suggest a reformulation of the scale of the color gradient on this map such that the countries nearest the median %GDP expenditures are colored yellow. Right now, a quick look at the graph suggests that, for example, the USA's %GDP expenditures are near the world's median, but a closer look reveals that the scale is skewed by the extreme case of Eritrea. A less-misleading map color scheme would color countries like the USA (and the handful of others with higher %GDP expenditures) shades that indicate that they are well above the world's mean and median, without the viewer having to notice that the color scale on the left is nonlinear. Perhaps the color that indicates the maximum %GDP expenditure should have an open upper bound (e.g. "8%+"). DDennisM (talk) 17:35, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
