free use edit
I contacted the owner of this image before uploading it; permission for WP to use it was gladly given (Image:Mandolin-banjo.jpg#Source). Copies of the email exchange are equally gladly available on request. The real issue I guess, and an important one, may be a problem in WP's license-stating practice: within the current framework, how do we evidence copyright release? (I haven't read through the all the guidelines recently, but a quick look at other free use images suggests there is no formal way) --Eitch 06:49, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- Ah ha! This was back when copyright releases were on a say-so basis. I haven't uploaded anything recently, and didn't know that was all in the past. The email exchange has been forwarded to the OTRS system. --Eitch 07:11, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
